BOLOGNA

RESTORATION OF

ALA SCALIGERA

The aim of the project is to enhance
the Rocca’s cultural offer by creating a
space for temporary exhibitions. At the
same time, this becomes an opportunity
for the recovery and enhancement of
the building. The project for setting up
the temporary exhibition area has two
objectives: the creation of a low-impact
exhibition system with respect to the
existing one and the recovery of the
construction and decorative pre-existing
features through a careful conservative
restoration.

MateriAttiva-1200x675.png

Through the universal archetype of the cave, symbol of primordial purity, of water, a source of life and energy, and of sound, MateriAttiva
will offer the public an evocative multi- sensorial experience in a space evoking a new pact between humans and nature; a process of discovery of
the latest new frontiers in ceramics, viewed no longer as an inert substance for covering spaces but as an active architectural element
capable of improving the quality of the space where it is used. Revolutionary ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial CeramicTM technology is in the public eye once again in Milan, becoming a privileged vehicle conveying a message of social responsibility in the face of climate
change.

The GAM of Turin, with the collaboration of the Estate, the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation, the National Gallery of Washington, the Moma and the Whitney of New York organized “Opera Prima”, an exhibition dedicated to the works of one of the fathers of Pop culture. The itinerary deals with a period of time that goes from the early forties to 1997; from the first
tests with felt-tip pen, charcoal and crayon to the studies for “Mickey Mouse and Bugs  Bunny” (1958), up to the famous “Study for Pop!”.
